So, you want to pack your pantry for a move? Well, for most people this is one of the last things they pack given the fact you have to eat during the whole relocation process. However, a pantry in-and-of-itself can be quite daunting to pack. Figuring out what needs packing and what to throw away can be quite a nuisance. Although it doesn’t need to be that way. There is a system you can follow that will help you pack your pantry in a blink of an eye. And that is exactly what we are going to share with you today. So, grab a pen and paper, and let’s start creating your own personal packing checklist.
How to pack your pantry for a move
When packing your pantry you should only bring food that will remain edible and that won’t cause unnecessary damage during transport. However, there are a few exceptions from this rule, as you will see outlined in the list below.
- Canned food. Canned goods are known to have long shelve lives and their size allows for easy packing in moving boxes.
- Boxed and bagged foods. Unopened condiments are also pretty safe for transport. Because of their size, we recommend that you place them on top of unfilled moving boxes.
- Cooking ingredients. Put the rare cooking ingredients in plastic or glass containers and make sure they are sealed shut. Set the containers in moving boxes and you should be good to go.
As you might’ve guessed, you don’t need many supplies for packing your kitchen a few moving boxes is all you need. Just be sure to check your local grocery shop a few days before you move, so you can get your hands on some free moving boxes.
Declutter
Anything else we didn’t mention above you should find a way to get rid of. You could either throw it away, gift it, or even make some delicious meals (have you tried these excellent moving day meals ideas?). However, if you are moving shorter distances, then you might be able to get away with packing items that we didn’t mention on the list.
Although, if you do decide to move with some of the items that are not the list, and you are, for example from Clearwater, Florida, make sure to hire packing services Clearwater FL. We’d rather that you be safe than sorry.
